Graeme Dingle Foundation
The Graeme Dingle Foundation works with New Zealand’s tamariki and rangatahi at different life stages, working directly with schools through our programmes and in the community.
Established in 1995, we are proud to be one of the country's leading Child and Youth Development charities.
We make sure participating students have access to inspirational leaders and mentors when taking part in our programmes.
These programmes include:
- Kiwi Can: Kiwi Can is our energy-packed primary school programme, aimed at children aged 5 to 12 years. It teaches values such as integrity and respect, helps build resilience and delivers fun-filled learning to schools all around the country.
- Stars: Our Stars programme strengthens young people for that tricky transition into secondary school, through training and supporting older students to mentor and walk alongside the new Year 9’s.
- Career Navigator: Career Navigator helps by assisting New Zealand's young people with valuable information, options and guidance around work and life choices. Our purpose is to support young people to aim high to achieve their career goals.
- Project K: Project K kicks in at a time when young people need it most. Designed for Year 10's, this programme builds confidence, teaches life skills, promotes good health and encourages a positive attitude.
We use a combination of teaching in classrooms and outdoor adventures, where our young people are taught key life skills to develop resilience, build self-belief and face their futures with more confidence.
Our programmes are currently delivered to over 26,000 young people in over 40 communities across New Zealand every year. Our vision is to ensure Aotearoa will be the best place in the world to be young.
“I want to let you know how vital Kiwi Can is to our community, and how grateful we are for the differences we see in our students – and to be honest our parents too.
This is a very unique and hugely beneficial key element of our teaching curriculum. Our students' wellbeing is paramount and the Kiwi Can programme is designed to meet the exact needs of young and vulnerable kiwi kids.
There is literally no programme like it in New Zealand.”
